1. Could you each briefly tell us your background in animation or design and how you became involved with Flash?

LJ - My background is in photography, I initially became involved with flash as a means of presenting my portfolio online.

DC - My background was in industrial design, I started working with motion and flash when i switched from designing furniture to designing video games

2. Your sound fx and animation timing are excellent. Who handles this end of production and have they worked in sound before?

well thank you...mostly we do it ourselves and its quite a new skill but like animation or design its just a process of refinement we just know what works and what doesn't; what, in short, sounds good !

3. Drew has mentioned being influenced by Takashi Murakami. Are there any other Japanese designers or artists you find inspiring? Any animators/animation directors on that list?

At the moment Miyazaki and Mike Judge. and.......................Katsuhiro Otomo, Mamoru Oshî, Leiji Matsumoto

4. What qualities of Japanese design do you find appealing? Has this influenced your character designs (which somehow manage to be simultaneously cute and menacing!)?

That cute / menacing thing is quite an archetypal Japanese quality, or rather that almost paradoxical ambiguity is. Japanese women look very cute and sound very cute and wear cute little outfits but have been known to do the filthiest things, just watch "guso milk" and you'll see.

5. What's your favourite anime/animated series or movie? Best Mecha?

Don't tend to have favourites, I like different movies and series for different reasons. "Ghost in the Shell" is a Fantastic movie and its good to see some of those production values gradually filter down to the series. We are really enjoying "Samurai Champloo" at the moment, "Cowboy Bebop" rocks and Fuli Culi has some tremendous economical animation.

DC. Samurai Champloo rocks the party !

6. You have submitted your drummachine piece to numerous international film festivals, garnering a number of
awards. What gave you the impetus to move this piece beyond the internet? Have there been any particularly memorable festivals?

Ahhh well you see we have been tremendously fortunate in that Film Festivals have come to us. It was they that initially suggested they show the film and then did so! And as yet we haven't been to any of the festivals L being that we have too much work to do. We aim to go to at least one this year though.

7. Have you considered working on projects that are more interactive, as opposed to a more straightforward, cinematic piece?

This is an area that we are fascinated by and one that we would devote far more time to if we had it. I am sure that in the none to distant future we will both take a break from commercials and produce some more interactive work.

8. Will you be re-releasing any prints?

We definitely wouldn't re-release. What we loved about producing the original posters was that we could offer them for a small amount of money and that the exclusivity was generated solely by the availability. We really didn't make anything from them at all but so many people were so thrilled by being able to buy them it was all worth it. They were strictly limited edition and I think the people who actually managed to buy them were the people who most ardently followed our site. Of course we will be producing completely new works as soon as we can and we will do them under the same circumstances, it will be a limited edition, the quality will be incredible and the price will be affordable.

9. What project are you currently working on?

We've been signing lots of NDA's recently and sadly cant tell you much L
But we are working on a section of a film by a very successful and well respected director. And we are producing more toys! And we are doing animations for mobiles and our work will soon be available throughout Scandinavia.

10. What was the last great movie you have seen? What was the last great book you have read?

Last great film… c'mon "guso milk" it has to be! Last great book "The master and the Margarita".
