F5 is a biennial creativity conference presented by Motionographer and founded on the belief that true change occurs when you look outside your world and explore new horizons. F5 will be held at NYC’s Roseland Ballroom April 15-16, 2011, announced another round of speaker additions to its program. For those lucky enough to be in Montreal: For the official release of the third edition of its guide, Colagene organizes the Get your illustration fix event. The Guide shows the work of all artists represented by the agency. For its realization, each artist has produced an original illustration about the Get your illustration fix concept. More than a dozen of them was selected and declined into screeprints that will be exposed the night of the event and during the 2 days following it.
The Get your illustration fix launch will be held Thursday, February 17th, 2011 from 5 pm to 9 pm at Yves Laroche art gallery in Montreal. The exhibition will continue on Friday 18th and Saturday 19th. For more information, visit the Facebook event page.
Guilherme Marconi has put together a poster series charity for the Landslide disaster on January 12th in the Mountains Region of Rio de Janeiro which resulted in many deaths and missing persons. Guilherme is from this region and saw first hand the suffering this area was dealt. Together with UrbanArts, the Projeto Região Serrana (Mountains Region Project) is being launched, where 100% of the profit will go to help the Mountain Region: urbanarts.com.br/Artistas/PRS

Motionographer, Bran Dougherty-Johnson and Jake Sargeant recently posted the results of the 2010/09 Motion Graphic Design Census; the first-ever salary survey for professionals in Motion Graphic Design, Animation, Visual Effects and Film-making. This survey is designed to count everyone in the industry—from owners to interns, producers, designers and animators.

The current Census is based on U.S surveys, however Bran and team are quite interested in expanding to Canada. Toronto based Show & Tell Gallery is pleased to present Atrophic Existence (December 11th 2010 – January 10th 2011
), a group exhibition featuring a line-up of emerging contemporary artists from across North America whose work harmoniously intertwine around the subject of urban decay. In an attempt to explore this theme, all artists of Atrophic Existence delve into concepts and imagery that invite us to question and contemplate human (dis)connection with nature.

Originally hailing from Italy but now residing in London, See No Evil is proud to present an evening with Quayola (Nexus Productions). Exploring the space between video, audio, photography, installation, live performance and print. Quayola creates hybrid works blurring the boundaries between art, design and filmmaking.
