I’m a huge fan of roller coasters and amusement park rides. The bigger the better. This is the Centrifuge Brain Project which studies how these rides affect our IQ. Very interesting research. Enjoy :)

Sick and twisted new reel by Chicago based designer Aaron Becker. His latest work includes movie titles for Sinister, Hostel 3 as well as animated intros for production studios like Lime Orchard and Blumhouse. Amazing work and great editing to a slick track. Sehsucht: MTV EMA 2012 + Making Of

The latest from Sehsucht: A show package produced in partnership with MTV, for the 19th annual MTV European Music Award, broadcasted live from Frankfurt’s historic Festhalle on Sunday, November 11, 2012. We created and directed a 20 second sequence, and opener, bumper and closer alterations from 2 to 20 seconds length, revolving around a huge Zoetrope, a fast-moving carousel which evokes the illusion of motion through a fast succession of static elements which come to life with a stroboscopic light.

We had a chance to chat with Jordi Pages who recently collaborated with MRK, Gabor Ekes and Echolab, crafting these titles for the 2012 Playgrounds Fest.

1. Please describe the initial brief.

The brief was mainly a blank canvas. The only requirement was that we had to feature in some way the line up of artist that were going to be part of Playgrounds Fest 2012. Leon (Playgrounds director) just wanted to give us creative freedom and he encourage us to try any thing we had in our heads.

We were all waiting for the second chapter of his Essays On Reality, and the wait has finally come to an end! His latest video is now online, both on Vimeo and on a dedicated website here.

Essays On Reality, Chapter 2 represents “a caricature of hardcore pornography, a visual interpretation of our relationship with social technology, and a critique on the collapse of the European Union”.

Every once in a while its nice to sit back and reminisce … I recently watched MK12‘s 4D Softcore Sweater Porn from 2001. An incredible blend of design, animation and direction, MK12 absolutely blew minds.

Let’s also throw in Brazil Inspired from 2002… it only launched a revolution in kinetic typography …
