ManvsMachine / More4 Idents

After winning a competitive pitch, Channel 4 commissioned ManvsMachine to create a new brand identity and on-air look for More4. The re-brand is centred round a bold, flexible logo that morphs through a series of flips, folds and reveals. Live-action idents see the brand break out into the real world in the form of mechanical ‘flippers’. The installations inhabit environments from a domestic staircase to an abandoned fishing boat in Dungeness. To achieve this ManvsMachine teamed up with installation design pioneers, Jason Bruges Studio, to help design and build a flexible system consisting of over 400 individual flipper units. More here.

God’s Eye View

This is a montage of straight-down shots used in various films. This type of shot is commonly referred to as a “God’s Eye View” angle. The camera lens is perpendicular to the subject without any POV reference, which gives the viewer an omniscient viewpoint of the character and the surrounding space.

The video is cut to the Yeah Yeah Yeah‘s “Down Boy” from the “Is Is” album.

Sherpas Cinema: Kona Enduro

Whistler, B.C based Sherpas Cinema shot some great nature and sports video with fantastic cinematography. Their Kona Enduro Commercial is a good example. Make sure to check out Chimaera as well; Chimæra is a utopia. A dream or fantasy. Mythologically, it references a fusion of forms that is the personification of winter. By slowing down our perception of reality we get a unique look at a skier’s life.
