Create – Destroy

Happy 2012 from your friends at Hush!

So apparently, this  Ian Pons Jewell guy is going to go all “making videos you want to watch” on us.  Love his style.

Check out this one for DJ Shadow.

Stephen Kelleher

Stephen Kelleher updates, and his work is fun, funny, smart and great.

Jacob Escobedo

Jacob Escobedo is amazing. I can’t think of anything else to say.

Op Art

Brian DePalma’s short documentary from the MOMA’s 1965 Op Art exhibition: “The Responsive Eye.” Op Art has long been an inspiration of mine but I have to admit, I couldn’t help thinking of Roger Sterling in his cozy new office at SCDP. haha

Metronomy: The Look

While we’re on the subject of minimalism and directors, Lorenzo Fonda just busted out this sweet little piece of minimalistic awesomeness for Metronomy’s new single “The Look.”  The stop motion is really great, and plays as a nice little story juxtapozed with the footage of the band.

Charlie Wan

Director/Photographer, Charlie Wan has an amazing range.  I particularly love his minimalistic approach and explorations with color.

MTV Classic

Not sure if I’m late to the party on this one, but I really like the live action element of these MTV Classic spots, by Sven Müller. Very minimal and weird (which is always awesome in my book) but they totally tell the right stories.

JJ Kim

JJ Kim updates her site with lots of sweetness for your eyeballs.

The Art of Drowning

The Art of Drowning by Diego Maclean, is equal parts awesome animation and awesome story.

SHAPESHIFTER

I have been anxiously  waiting to post this since I first saw it a few weeks ago, and now I’m finally able to present the goodness. Charlex has turned the screws hard on this one, and it is absolutely beautiful. I think it’s gonna be a great year for those guys–but for now, go forth and enjoy Shapeshifter!

BUCK

I think a case could be made that Buck did the best work of 2010.

Just one example of their awesomeness is this piece for Google EBooks.

Moleskine

Whether you pronounce it “moleskin” or “moleskiiine”, it makes no difference in the awesomeness of this animated piece for Moleskine.

Kim Dulaney

Continuing my trend of disappearing and only reappearing to bring you nepotistic posts:  I bring you the long awaited update of Kim Dulaney’s website! Kim is an ultra-talented designer and a really great person, so she deserves your eyeballs for at least a few minutes. The detail is tremendous and the color is deep.  Enjoy!

Blue Roses

I was floored by this video for Blue Roses. Taking that whole “3 frames” concept to the next level for sure.
