Here we go, folks. Greg Barth did it again.

We were all waiting for the second chapter of his Essays On Reality, and the wait has finally come to an end! His latest video is now online, both on Vimeo and on a dedicated website here.

Essays On Reality, Chapter 2 represents “a caricature of hardcore pornography, a visual interpretation of our relationship with social technology, and a critique on the collapse of the European Union”.

Nowadays, we are so bombarded with beautiful videos and animations with stunning effects and transitions that we tend to forgive very easily a lack of content. It can also happen that a strong imbalance between visuals and the message is part of an artistic choice.

Mr Barth’s latest video is anything but an empty box: it is what happens when technique meets creativity, and intellect merges with visions.

Through a strong and minimal use of video footages, an accurate colour selection and his very unique way to combine hand-made and CGI effects, Greg Barth firstly wows us with the polished aesthetics of its video. The excitement and the curiosity to know more about this surreal world follow, until the whole message, layer after layer, is revealed. And then, it’s time to give us a pause for thought.
