Takashi Miike: 13 Assassins

Takashi Miike‘s next two movies are samuari based and that gets me pretty excited. The first, 13 Assassins, released April 29th (apple trailer here // UK trailer here), “delivers a bravado period action film set at the end of Japan’s feudal era in which a group of unemployed samurai are enlisted to bring down a sadistic lord and prevent him from ascending to the throne and plunging the country into a wartorn future.” Very much looking forward to seeing this.

The second I don’t know too much about yet, it is currently in post-production; Death of a Samurai, to be released sometime in 2011.

Tyler Stout: Kill Bill ~ The Whole Bloody Affair ~ for Quentin Tarantino

Tyler Stout’s most recent project makes me really want to get my hands on one of these … from the Mondo Blog: “About three weeks ago, we got a call from Quentin Tarantino’s team asking us if we would be interested in doing a poster for not only the first public screening of QT’s reassembled opus, KILL BILL: THE WHOLE BLOODY AFFAIR, but for a surprise at his birthday screening! Of course, we obliged and yesterday we revealed this masterful work by Tyler Stout!” …. tasty! Very nice work on this CinemaKC Show Open from Claudia Chagui and Chris Waner.
