I don’t know too much about +AKITIPE STUDIOS, but I have feeling we’ll be seeing more of them soon … here is their latest project; The Human Element, a branding asset for Discovery Science – a channel dedicated to making science programming relevant and entertaining. Inspired by Plato’s four classical elements, the image spot celebrates the “human” endeavor in the field of scientific discovery – with a treatment that mashes up mythology, philosophy and technology. This promo actualizes the thinking/dreaming process that may occur as we explore the psychological world of science. . The concept originated from Discovery Networks Asia-Pacific, with the VFX undertaken by +AKITIPE STUDIOS and Motion Foundry.

UK based animation studio Axis have worked closely with publisher Deep Silver to create the emotional and hard hitting trailer for the video game Dead Island; a survival horror title coming to PC, Xbox 360 and PS3 in 2011 and is set in the tropical paradise gone wrong, Banoi. The entire island is over run by zombies and the player is drawn into the mysterious and dramatic scenario.
“When we were initially approached by Deep Silver about Dead Island we were really excited about the idea of getting to grips with zombies.” said Axis Executive Producer Richard Scott.
“As we started to collaborate with the Deep Silver team on the story ideas and creative treatments we felt that there was something else special about this opportunity. Deep Silver were really keen to create something different, something that would really stand out and when they put forward the initial idea for the ‘reverse’ sequence I saw the seed of something great there.” said Axis director Stuart Aitken
Toronto based sound designer Drasko V teamed up with AudioAndroid, Yoko K, Yongchan Kim and Yongsub Song, producing this fantastic piece of audio/visual goodness: Singularity. “Machine’s road towards singularity. Exponential growth in technology. Radical changes in our society. Expectance and acceptance of technology. The existential threat is yet to be felt, as even a simple smile cannot contain the energy and feel humans possess.”
