BUCK
I think a case could be made that Buck did the best work of 2010.
Just one example of their awesomeness is this piece for Google EBooks.

As part of Hennessy cognac’s ‘artist series’ of custom designed bottles, LAUNDRY! Co-Founder/Creative Director P.J. Richardsonteamed with popular LA-based DJ Steve Aoki to design a one-of-kind bottle for the French distillery.
Incorporating Richardson’s distinct bubble art style, which can be seen in his early graffiti and skateboard art, and Aoki’s own visual sense, their Hennessy bottle is a classic example of the ‘more is more’ philosophy with multiple layers and a dense animation quality that reveals intricate details the closer you look at it — much like the city they both call home.
”Steve and I both agreed that creating something crazy, graphic and visually busy would convey the energy that represented us both well, while using words woven in to the design to call out both our names and our hometown LA — in fun ways,” Richardson says. ”Steve’s roots are in punk and club music, mine are in graffiti and animation. For this, we didn’t want to not adhere to any one visual language, but simply freestyle some drawings that we both could agree were just fun. We are both from California and there is a certain punk, free-form sensibility that we’re not entirely conscious of that spilled into our bottle.”
Other bottle collaborations in the series include the musician Kid Sister and artist Fafi, Q-Tip and Spaceknuckle and The Roots’ Questlove and Aerosyn-Lex.
Brand New School has been making great strides in the world of physical installations over the last several years. Their installation at JFK airport for Xbox 360 in 2008 is absolutely stunning; A match-up of a bear against a Sumo wrestler, a cheetah against a roller skater, and a gymnast against a Scottish warrior. Also starring: a broccoli, a chili dog, a pugilist, a beehive and a bunch of other things. The match-ups take place in front of a couch in a living room on forty HD screens in a pathway in the American Airlines terminal at JFK airport. I could probably sit and watch this all day.
Check out all of BNS’ installation works here. ESPN Monday night football piece is quite amazing as well.

Whether you pronounce it “moleskin” or “moleskiiine”, it makes no difference in the awesomeness of this animated piece for Moleskine.
Istanbul based Mert Kizilay launched a great new reel showcasing Direction, Design, Animation and Compositing work.
If you haven’t seen Gaspar Noé‘s Enter the Void, I highly recommend you do. Here are some of the VFX that Paris/L.A based BUF created for the film. Beauty and Horror, Life and Death, Love and Hate, Psychedelia and Reality all juxtaposed within a beautiful Tokyo backdrop.
Here is also the opening credits for the movie … like none I’ve ever seen before. The last :30 is insanely intense and very well done. Not sure who created these though:
errorone is a German freelance motion designer … “This year we produced the opening sequence for the shortfilm competition “kurzundschön” (Short & Nice) … We wanted to show the short and nice moment when felicity and serenity come together.”
SHOWstudios‘ Nick Knight: “This film is my way of speaking about a very unique and important person who changed my life. My desire was to speak in some way about the dark and the light contained within Lee, and within us all.’”
