PostPanic: Vodafone ~ Smart Business

Amsterdam-based agency They asked PostPanic Directors’ Mischa Rozema and Chris Staves, to work with them on developing a visually unique and memorable introduction to Vodafone’s Business website. This introduction would need to adapt every few months as new product themes are promoted by Vodafone.

Mischa and Chris’s solution was to use a mixture of live action and photo realistic 3d to create a magnetically-driven transforming entity, presented as an art installation and composed of
hundreds of mobile telephone, laptops, PDAs and smart phones. New product themes are adopted by the ever-changing entity which then forms to create a symbol communicating the
theme. This first clock theme reflects the products developed by Vodafone to help the work: life balance. The imagery projected on the entity is created from all the equipment screens working as a whole, almost like the scales of a reptile. A library of images and individual motion design stories following a carefully chosen graphic palette, were produced to insert in the numerous screens to further convey product theme characteristics. Although the main purpose of the film is as an online introduction, content has also been adapted by PostPanic to create print visuals and a television commercial for broadcast in Benelux.
