Ana Somnia: Lights Out!

Crazy site for artist Ana Somnia … “A whole world waits for you when you turn out the lights. In our dreams, lie childish figures, random shapes and half remembered memories. Each one is different yet somehow the same. Ana Somnia is a generative art project that emulates how we dream. Dim your lights to enter Ana’s dreamworld.” … an never ending dreamscape.

Great work from Virginia based artist Dave MacDowell … “He incorporates media culture, and social themes into brilliant and controversial satirical paintings. Working primarily with acrylics on canvas, David is not afraid of tapping into the dark side of American media worship. He tops off celebrity renderings sprinkled with crying babies, candy colored nightmares, and a hilariously acidic sense of humor.”

At 23 I was appointed Associate Creative Director and led a global rebrand across London, NY and LA”.

Hyper London: Nokia Push N8

As part of the Nokia N8 launch, Hyper London has just launched a new Nokia Push project, a celebration of ingenuity and open technology, where Hyper London developed two prototypes designed to work with the Nokia N8 that push the boundaries of what the device can do.

One is the Push KAPing (Kite Aerial Photography) prototype. By using two Nokia N8s that communicate with one another, filmmakers can now fly one from a kite rig whilst using another on the ground to not only see, but also control exactly what is being shot in full HD from above.

Push Skating; But both those films just scratch the surface of what can be done with these prototypes. “What we’re really pleased to announce is that Nokia now have 4 of each prototype to give away to anybody who can inspire us with a creative treatment of what they would do with one. Nokia will also be giving away a Nokia N8 and up to $1000 to produce their film.”

Full details of this project can be found at http://nokia.com/push

Film Production: Pulse Films … Director: DARYL … Prototype Production: Paragon Creative.

African Digital Art

African Digital Art emerged from the need to make design from / by and about Africa (n’s) Visible. Running on close to two years, its now a daily design & creative magazine / blog that continues to purvey unique inspiration from artists from the continent and those living abroad. Its been a lovely discovery especially over the world cup this year to feature Kronk (Whose work was on the Nike collection of world Cup Shirts), to regularly featuring motion design from studios in South Africa like Tennant Mckay.
