Syndrome Studio: MTV Awards 2010

L.A based Syndrome Studio recently completed the visual branding package for this year’s 2010 MTV Movie Awards … “This included everything we love to do from motion design to 3D character animation to live-action directing and editing. Building upon the existing logo from last year, our first challenge was to give their Popcorn Man a 2010 facelift. To give him more edge and swagger we re-created him in 3D allowing us full control of his poses and movement. The package evolved from there as we worked close with MTV and Mark Burnett Productions to create a contemporary take on digital cinema. We wanted to approach each category as mini films, fragments of an abstract story representing each genre. With this approach it made sense to go live-action and once our concepts were in place, we then shot on location over the course of five days.”
