Update: rethinkcommunciations.com and Giant Ant Media have been slaving late nights on an experimental motion piece using a money counter… and a lot of printed paper bills! The animation is for the upcoming international conference in Vancouver ~ Design Currency 2010. Rethink designed actual 100 D (Design Dollar) bills, Giant Ant Media animated it coming together, then printed out 2218 physical “bills” before running them all through a money counting machine and filming it in a hybrid stop-motion, live action style. I found this quite inspiring; the teaser trailer for Press Pause Play, the first film to capture an emerging generation of global creators and artists … the teachers aren’t certified schools anymore – it’s web sites, discussion forums and a “learn by doing”-mentality … Collaboration over hierarchy, digital over analog – a change in the way we produce, distribute and consume creative works.
