Bent Image Labs: “I Exist” ~ Dr. Pepper

bentimagelabs.jpg

Bent Image Labs‘ Ken Lidster recently directed this stop-motion spot for Dr. Pepper: I Exist … “Bent created duplicates of the set and triples of the nine-inch-high characters to streamline production. They then shot the stop-motion on high-res digital cameras. Certain shots, such as the soda pour, were done on one of the studio’s in-house Red cameras, using the Red Ultra Prime lenses.” View some behind-the-scenes photos.

update : Revolver + Onesize: Playground Festival Trailer

update: How did you shoot the slow motion, it looks great, did you use a Phantom? Onesize; “… shooting with a Phantom camera would not do the trick for us. We wanted to have more control over the slow motion in post production and still be be able to decide camera angles and motion. To do this we used the camera mapping technique in 3D. The production was made fairly simple compared to live-action shoots with high speed camera’s shooting on location. By using this technique, simply because we only needed still images, we wrapped the shoot in 3 hours. Our photographer, Jasper Faber did an outstanding job by using only 2 flash lights, a camera and a macbook.”

… A full feature with more insight coming soon.

Wow, this totally made my day; Revolver and Onesize collaborated in making this trailer for the Dutch Playground Festival … hosting a great line-up.
