Speakers are Justin Booth-Clibborn, Marie Hyon and Marco Spier … “This workshop will give the audience an insight into the process and thinking which Psyop goes through on a typical project, from conception, through script development, character design, stylistic explorations, animation tests and previz, editing, rounds and rounds of animation, compositing, creation of effects, and achieving the final look.” I wish I was going!

Meteor Studio’s Unpaid artists

Meteor Studio's Unpaid artists

I hate hearing about this sort of thing happening: Journey 3D, FX Artists of Former Meteor Studios have, after more than 1 yr, not been paid for an incredible amount of work put into the film. “During October, November and December of 2007, artists worked without pay; some put in 100-hour weeks and stayed loyal to the project with the promise of pay as soon as the accounting glitch was fixed. ” … read more at News Blaze and also an update at Motionographer … “the artists involved were offered 45% of the pay without overtime or interest by Discovery Channel and Evergreen Films to settle out of court. They voted unanimously not to accept the offer. They and the Canadian Labor Board are continuing to seek legal recourse to get the money they are owed.”
