OOOH!MTV: Great short films to make MTV.nl get back on top with a retro feel. OOOH!MTV is made up by 15 short films of 30 seconds to 3 minutes in length. The films are produced by companies such as PostPanic, Mondernista, Wayne Horse, Wieden & Kennedy, …,staat and Sander Plug & Lernert Engelberts. MTV produced one of their own as well. The result is very diverse in style, technique and concept. My fav short is I’m Everything All of the Time by PostPanic.
A few years ago when Quentin Tarantino released the second Kill Bill, there was hype of two subsequent supporting anime movies, one depicting the rise and fall of Bill and the other shedding light on his bride’s past. It seems the hype is generating again, at for the Bill featured movie. Japanese Production IG produced the anime sequences in both Kill Bill Vol. 1 and Vol.2. Damn I hope this happens.

New Reel up for Sifon DG : SIFON it’s a multidisciplinary studio from Argentine that develops in diverse fields of the Graphical Design and Animation (2D-3D). Created in 2006, SIFON DG produces pieces for TV, advertising as well as experimental work.

Lexus IS F VIsualizer : directed by Toronto based Crush for Dentsu Canada … currently being shown in Canadian cinemas. “We were given an audio clip of the car running full tilt and asked ‘what would that sound look like?’ We then interpreted the sounds visually and used Maya and After Effects to create imagery that built adrenaline and took the audience on a journey,” Crush Creative Director Gary Thomas explains. I’m closing in on the end of the 4th and final dvd in my Death Note series. This is by far the most interesting and most beautifully illustrated manga series I’ve come across yet. From Wikipedia: “The series centers on Light Yagami, a high school student who discovers a supernatural notebook, the titular “Death Note”, dropped on Earth by a shinigami (death god) named Ryuk. The Death Note grants its user the ability to kill anyone whose face they have seen, by writing the victim’s name in the notebook.
