Softimage, German artist Eric Mootz released Celestial Chaos, a two minute video experimenting with “emNewton2″, a plugin for ICE which implements Isaac Newton’s “Law of universal Gravity”.
“The main difficulty of the implementation was to achieve reasonable simulation times even though each particle attracts each other particle (that’s the evil O(n^2) thing).
As usual the main reason for the animation was to test the stability of the plugin.”
For Softimage users, Eric has several video tutorials on his site ranging from particle animation to fluid dynamics.

In an effort to bring their Exclusive Faces range to a larger audience, HypeForType approached graphic designer Ryan Atkinson to produce their first magazine release: Typographic Revolt. The brief was to produce a 16 page A2 mailer with a twist. Instead of following the traditional convention of a read through booklet, Ryan designed a quick read through A2 magazine which also doubles up as a set of 4 Exclusive Faces posters. Each page folds out to create a double sided poster perfect for your studio or home wall space.
The magazine itself is printed litho on 90gsm wood free paper, giving everything a premium newspaper feel which absorbs the inks to create a beautiful desaturated look and feel.
After winning a competitive pitch, Channel 4 commissioned ManvsMachine to create a new brand identity and on-air look for More4. The re-brand is centred round a bold, flexible logo that morphs through a series of flips, folds and reveals. Live-action idents see the brand break out into the real world in the form of mechanical ‘flippers’. The installations inhabit environments from a domestic staircase to an abandoned fishing boat in Dungeness. To achieve this ManvsMachine teamed up with installation design pioneers, Jason Bruges Studio, to help design and build a flexible system consisting of over 400 individual flipper units.
